The purpose of a turntable in pallet wrapping is to rotate a loaded pallet at a controlled, adjustable speed so stretch film can be applied evenly around the entire load. This reduces manual labor, improves wrap consistency, secures loads for transit and storage, and increases throughput compared to manual wrapping methods.

Standard turntable platforms, such as the 65-inch diameter model used on semi-automatic wrappers, accommodate most standard pallet footprints including 48x40-inch GMA pallets. Larger custom turntable sizes are available for oversized or non-standard pallet configurations depending on facility and load requirements.

Load capacity varies by model. Semi-automatic turntable systems typically support up to 4,000 lbs, while rotary arm and inline fully automatic systems can handle up to 3,000 kg or more. Selecting the right capacity depends on your heaviest pallet loads and expected throughput.

Turntable rotation speed is typically adjustable, ranging from 0 to 13 RPM on semi-automatic models. This allows operators to fine-tune wrapping speed based on load stability, film tension requirements, and product fragility to prevent shifting or damage during rotation.

Most turntables use a 1HP chain-drive motor paired with double nylon roller supports underneath the platform. This combination provides smooth, consistent rotation even under heavy loads while minimizing wear and maintenance requirements over years of continuous operation.
